• Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems, including the use of CMMS.
• Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.
• Assist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory to maintain plant reliability. Assist in physical inventories.
• Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant procedures, operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
• Assist contractor/outside technicians performing in-plant electrical and control system repairs/upgrades.

• Maintain all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipment.

• Ability to work on shift over days/nights/weekends as needed.
• Assist in training other Technicians as needed.
• Keep management informed of any security issues noticed during shift.
• 100% punctuality and ability to timely answer callouts is required.
• Perform All other duties as assigned by the IC&E Foreman.

• Proficient with operating and maintaining power plant equipment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering prints and electrical/control schematics as required to complete assignments.
• Must be able to operate on high energy electrical equipment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 1 to 3 years IC&E experience required.

ROLE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the Water/Waste Water Treatment Facility while assigned on shift or while assigned to the maintenance team. These responsibilities include, but is not limited to Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the water treatment equipment, demineralizers, motors, pumps, fire suppression systems, and all other balance of Water/Waste Water Treatment equipment. Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees, contractors, and public safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates and maintains the original open basin waste plant, primary wastewater treatment, and secondary wastewater treatment facilities.  
• Operates and maintains multiple demineralizer trains. 
• Responsible for all water treatment processes, including chemical handling, associated with waste treatment facilities.  
• Works with Environmental group to ensure all environmental regulatory inspections and testing are complete and in compliance with all permits.  
• Responsible for overall power block water chemistry process including inspection and maintenance of all the laboratory’s analyzing equipment.  
• Must adhere to all safety procedures including but not limited to hot work, confined space, and hazardous energy control (LOTO)
• Assist with performing Root Cause Analysis of failures.
• Perform water chemistry analysis on boiler, and cooling systems.
• Ensure water chemistry is within proper control ranges. Make adjustments to water chemistry, as needed, by controlling chemical feed and/or blowdown rates. Work with Managers, WF and water treatment vendor to properly monitor overall chemistry program.
• Operate demineralized water system in accordance with OEM and plant procedures and monitor demineralized water to ensure quality is within acceptable limits.
• Reads, understands and complies with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs. Follow all plant environmental permits.
• Other duties as assigned will be required to work with other departments or locations.

ROLE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
The general duties expected of Fuel Handlers are operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, housekeeping, and assisting with power plant maintenance. The Fuel Handler position is the forefront of power generation.

• Operate and maintain all heavy equipment on-site.
• Operate and maintain fuel handling equipment including company vehicles, heavy machinery, crushers, and conveyor belts, etc.
• Oversee the unloading of fuel shipments.
• Ability to work on shift over days/nights/weekends as needed.
• Make routine tours of the fuel handling system to inspect the equipment for faulty operation, reporting abnormal conditions to the Control Room Operator and Foreman.
• Support Plant Maintenance as coordinated by the Maintenance Manager.
• Collect fuel samples as directed to meet environmental regulations.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
• Continuously observe safety rules and practices, check conditions of safety equipment, attend and participate in scheduled safety meetings and training.
• Maintain company grounds including plowing snow, mowing grass, removing brush, etc.

• Proficient with operating heavy equipment.

• Fuel handler must possess a heightened sense of mechanical inclination.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

CDL preferred, Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a CDL is required. Must be able to retain a medical card.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years heavy equipment experience required. Fuel yard, mechanical, and welding experience preferred.

• Fuel Yard Mechanic will be exposed to inclement weather and extreme high and low temperatures when working outdoors.
• Fuel Yard Mechanic will be exposed to a high decibel level while working and will be equipped with the appropriate PPE.
• Fuel Yard Mechanic will need to work in confined spaces with a respirator.

Problem Solving & Complexity: Fuel Yard Mechanic must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair company vehicles and machinery with little supervision.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (without assistance)
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day.
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.
• Must meet and maintain the physical requirements to pass a DOT physical.
• Capable of working in confined spaces.
• Capable of working at height.
